Graduation
Degree Requirements
The degree of Doctor of Pharmacy is conferred by Touro College of Pharmacy upon a candidate who has completed the required curriculum, comprising a minimum of 167 academic credits and has completed all co-curricular requirements within six (6) years following initial enrollment. All academic, legal and financial requirements to the College must be satisfied. Students must achieve a cumulative grade-point average of at least 2.300 to be conferred the degree. Touro University does not round grade point averages, rather they are truncated after the third decimal point. For example, a GPA calculated as 2.2997 would be truncated as 2.299, and thus ineligible for being awarded the degree.

Students who complete their certificate or degree requirements in January, June, or September of a given year may participate in Touro College of Pharmacy commencement exercises.
Commencement
All students are expected to comply with the Touro University Commencement Policy and to conduct themselves with appropriate decorum and professionalism during commencement exercises.
Students are permitted to wear only the official Touro University academic regalia (caps, gowns, hoods, etc.) provided to them for these proceedings. Students receiving their U.S. military commission may display their dress uniforms during their commissioning portion of the commencement program and then don their official academic regalia thereafter. Additionally, students are permitted to wear only earned honor cords or cords issued by the University to Veterans of the U.S. Military on their regalia. Students may — but are not required to — wear stoles on their regalia, but only from University-recognized academic honor societies. Students must obtain written approval from the Dean of their school prior to ordering any honor society stoles. No other honor cords, stoles, or alterations to approved University regalia are permitted at commencement. Violation of the commencement policy is subject to disciplinary action which may have penalties up to and including impact upon the actual conferral of degrees or dismissal from the university.
Participation in these ceremonies does not necessarily mean that a student has graduated. Graduation is certified officially by the Office of the Registrar only after auditing the student’s record for completion of all certificate or degree requirements. PLEASE NOTE: Touro University’s official degree conferral dates normally do not correspond to the dates on which commencement exercises take place.
